In Ukraine, will work the project "Twinning"
Wednesday, October 21, in Conference Room of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine (Kyiv, str. Khreshchatyk, 24, room 408) conference will start on the opening of the project Twinning - "Assistance to Ukrainian veterinary service to improve the legal and technical aspects of control systems for food safety.
Twinning project will protect the health of the population of Ukraine by strengthening monitoring systems for food safety. It is assumed that the approximation to EU standards will increase the quality of food and, thereby, promote opportunities Ukrainian export products of animal origin such as meat, milk, eggs and fish to the EU member states.
The project provides for collaboration in such areas as approximation of the laws of Ukraine and the EU plans to improve public monitoring of residues of veterinary drugs, contaminants in live animals and raw foods of animal origin, development of guidelines for manufacturers of food and appropriate veterinary control authorities, implementation of educational programs in Ukraine, of Denmark, the Netherlands and Latvia on the inspection of food products in chemical laboratories, procedures for selection of samples, microbiological criteria, the quality of meat inspection, animal health and veterinary border controls and more.
The project will be implemented by the Office for Veterinary and quality control of foodstuffs of Denmark in consortium with the Authority on food safety and consumer goods of the Netherlands.
The project also will participate in short-term experts from the service of quality food and veterinary Latvia.
Members of the Twinning project at 11-00 hold a press conference and will provide detailed information about the aims and objectives of the project.
