from January 1, 2010 came into force a law that exempt from taxation income producers of biofuels derived from its sale

In Ukraine on Jan. 1, 2010 came into force a law on amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Ukraine on facilitating the production and use of biofuels.

Under the law, starting from 1 January 2010 to 10 years of tax exempt profits of producers of biofuels derived from its sale. The law defines the legal principles regulating the production and consumption of biological types of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels in Ukraine.

Under the law, the alternative types of solid fuel belongs to: products and waste from agriculture (crop and livestock), forestry and technologically related industries, as well as pellets, briquettes, charcoal and coaly material produced from these products and wastes, that is used as fuel, organic part of industrial and household wastes, as well as pellets and briquettes are produced from them; peat, as well as pellets and briquettes are produced from it. It is also envisaged that bio-fuels, intended for implementation as commodity products, are subject to compulsory certification in accordance with the law. The producers of alternative fuels are business entities of all forms of ownership, which produce solid, liquid and gaseous fuels from unconventional sources and energy commodities.
