Producers were obliged to mark all GMO-components
The Premium Soviet adopted amendments to laws providing information about content in foods genetically modified components.
Now, food manufacturers should be required to put a mark on the packaging, the presence or absence of these genetically modified organisms (earlier in the decision of the Cabinet had been prescribed, you need to prevent only the presence of GMOs).
If the manufacturer or product seller finds out that the packaging information is unreliable (but it does not harm human life and health), production per week is withdrawn from sale, but such information must be corrected.
For providing false information about the product (if it does not hurt the lives and health of the consumer) producer fined for 170 - 850 hryvnia. If the manufacturer does not change the information on the packaging or re-tells bad data in the year from the date of recovery, he will fine at 850 - 3400 hryvnia.
Also, the Parliament adopted changes to the law on food safety and quality of products, which are exempt from the labeling of GMO products and tobacco products for personal use
